Providing counselling in Stokes Croft, Southville, and central Bristol.

Based in central Bristol, I offer a collaboration between you, the client, and myself as the counsellor. Together, following your lead, we will explore what you choose to bring to counselling to help you toward a goal, toward understanding, toward finding peace, or to better know yourself.

In our work together you will be heard without judgement in a safe space, where you will be able to speak openly about what is on your mind.

In counselling, rather than providing answers, I will support you to find the solutions and answers yourself. This may look like life changes, or being better able to cope with and manage the stresses of life.

I am able to work with clients aged 14+

What do I offer?

I have experience with:

- Depression - Anxiety - Stress - Anger - Low self-esteem - Addiction - Feeling “stuck” - IVF process

Working with Autism

In the therapeutic world, autism is often misunderstood or not accounted for. A common experience for autistic clients in talking therapies is to feel unheard, not understood, and often as though therapy is not something accessible for them.

I have worked with autistic students in dedicated education settings, and continue to work successfully with autistic clients today as a counsellor.

My work with autistic clients is informed by the neurological, social, emotional, and experiential differences that they face - understanding that how you may experience the world is fundamentally different to allistic or neurotypical clients. As such, I endeavour we communicate well from the outset about your unique needs, and cater my practice and space to meet those as best as I can.

If you are an autistic person and have experienced difficulty accessing talking therapies before, let’s discuss how we can make that experience better for you.

Starting Counselling:

1. Contact

You can either fill out the form on the “Contact” page, or email me at mudgecounselling@gmail.com.

You need to provide a contact email and phone number so I can get in touch with you.

We will arrange a short call to see what you need from counselling and see if I feel like a good fit for you.

2. Before the first session

Following the call, if we are both happy to continue, we will arrange our first full session together and I will send you an information form to complete.

I will work with you to find a regular day and time that you will be able to attend for our sessions.

3. First session

In our first session together we will establish your goals and intentions for counselling, and what I can do to facilitate those.

You are free to ask as many questions as you need, as we will be working collaboratively in this process.

4. Sessions moving forward

After our first session, we will meet regularly (typically weekly) to work toward your goal. The counselling I offer is long-term, with no set number of sessions.

Our work together will continue for as long as you would like, and once you are ready to end, we will have one agreed ending session to review our work together.
